... Tu vuò fa l'americano
The students pf Liceo Classico Garibaldi - in particular, those of the class I A - motivated by their English language studies, their interest in American culture, they have founded an association called " Napolican" : Tu vuò fa l' americano".
The students already have several events and activities in mind, as follows :
- visits to the American Consulate
- Art exhibitions
- trips into the centro storico
- visits to the cinema
- picnics in the park
- dinner at local eateries for American and Neapolitan favourites
- the beginning of an English language Book Club
- cooking experiments in both types of cousine
This association will look to raise money for these events in so far as they are able to.
Students have in mind some ideas, such as organizing events at wwhich to sell crafts and sweets.
A special note should also be added that the students have expressed interest in using this organization also for fund-raising for the horrible events that took place in Haiti, recently.
Following the elections, were elected :
- Alessia Romano ( I A) as President
- Clarissa Ienco ( IIA) as Vice- President
- Simona Barra ( IA) as Secretary
- Rosa Vitale ( IA) as Treasurer
Working together, we hope to providee a rich and unique experience for the students that will not only help them in their English-language studies, but they want to appreciate the cultural contexts in which and for which these studies exist, obviously having fun !!!
